The Raspberry Pi Pico WH has pre-soldered headers. There are only a couple of prominent differences between the W and WH variants. The dimensions of the boards are the same.

Keyed 3-Pin Connector

• The Serial Wire Debug (SWD) 3-Pin header on the Pico WH is broken out into a small Keyed 3-Pin connector.
• The Serial Wire Debug (SWD) header on the Pico W has 3 through-hole castellated pins.

Pre-Soldered Headers

• Raspberry Pi Pico WH has pre-soldered headers.
• Whereas the Raspberry Pi Pico W is a castellated module which allows the user to solder directly to the carrier board.

Raspberry Pi Pico WH has an on-board Single-Band 2.4GHz 802.11n add-on wireless interface and the CYW43439 Infineon chip. It also has an ABRACON licensed antenna on-board and supports Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE central and peripheral roles.

Important Notes

• For optimal wireless performance, make sure that there is no metal near or under the antenna. You can improve the bandwidth by adding grounded metal to the sides of the antenna.
• The same pin on the RP2040 is shared by IRQ and CYW43439 DIN/DOUT. This means that IRQs can be checked when there is no SPI transaction in progress.
• Some wireless interface pins are shred because of the pin limitations. VSYS monitor and CLK are shared and this is why the ADC can read VSYS only where not SPI transaction is in progress.
